Working Visit and MoU Signing

Brunei Darussalam and the Sultanate of Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU in the field of Media. The signing took place during Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence's Working Visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The 3-day working visit began on 28th of April.

The signing of the MoU is one of the events held in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Sultanate of Oman in 2024, and as a way forward to further enhance existing bilateral relations between the two countries. The signing ceremony of the MoU took place at the Ministry of Information of the Sultanate of Oman in Muscat.

This is the third time the MoU is renewed and through it, both countries will encourage cooperation in various media fields including exchanges of radio, television and news materials and programmes of common interest; expertise; and capacity building.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence made a courtesy call on His Excellency Dr Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Harrasi, Minister of Information of the Sultanate of Oman.

The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence also made a tour to the studios at Oman TV. Yang Berhormat also visited the Muscat Book Fair as well as several interesting places in Oman, namely the Royal Opera House, National Museum of Oman, and Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Joining the Working Visit to Oman was Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Permanent Secretary for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister's Office.
